Historic Photos
There are surprisingly few historic photos of Fort Johnson in the official record. Fort Johnson was photographed at the end of the Civil War (link), in 1901 at the time of the Interstate and West Indian Exposition (link), in 1906 when it was being transferred from the state to the US Marine Hospital Service (link) and in 1931 when it was being renovated (link). Aerial photographs of variable quality were taken starting in the 1930s (link).
