Archaeology at Fort Johnson - 2007

In 1906 the Quarantine operation was passed along to the US Marine Hospital Service. They sent an inspector to assess the property, and buildings.

The Quarantine station, from the water. A Civil War cannon is in the center of the image. The battery was flattened and used for fill, however.

Cistern and bath house. Unlike the cisterns in the project area this is a vaulted brick structure. Note the gutters and rain catching apparatus feeding into the cistern.

Crew Quarters.
